Welcome to February!  So far, the weather has been strange to put it mildly.  We have gone from cold and wind and low temps to high temps and back again.  No wonder everyone feels terrible!

With February come more items on our calendar.  We are looking for volunteers for shows coming in 2020.  Check the events calendar to see what’s happening.  You can sign up at the club or by calling the office and leaving your name, number, and event you want to work.  Signup sheets are also located in the entryway to the club.

The Harry A. Smith Installation and Dinner Dance will be held on the 16th.  Afterwards, we will post all the various award recipients.  The Harry A. Smith committee selected the various recipients.  They ask for recommendations from the members, however, we never seem to get any.  As with many of our events, people come up after the fact with what should and shouldn’t have been done.  If you make your recommendations to the Board of Directors or Harry A. Smith committee ahead of time, we can make sure the information gets to the proper area.

March is going to bring the Sport and Travel Expo.  There is still time to sign up to help at the Expo.

The Club is going through some growing pains, but we are all working together as a team to get through them.  All I can say is that if you aren’t part of the solution, you must be part of the problem.  In other words, if you have suggestions for change, please come forward with them.  Don’t just sit back and complain to everyone under the sun.  Don’t listen to rumors.  If you have a question, call and I’ll try to answer your question to your satisfaction.  The rumor mill is wicked and filled with a lot of misinformation.  So, please don’t be part of the problem…be part of the solution!  After all, this is your club!

As my final note for this month, we’re still looking for members who are tradesmen (electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc.) who may be able to help us when needs arise.  We would prefer to use our members and their companies whenever possible.  If you may be able to help, please call me on my cell phone (716-435-9932) and let me know what your expertise is.  Thank you in advance.

Be Safe Out There,
